So the last couple of days have been busy. We spent some time with our friends, the Kirks, yesterday, lighting off fireworks, having shortcake with ice cream and berries and hanging out. It was fun! The kids look forward to that if we don't make it to Utah for the 4th.
Today we met up with Jackie, Ellen, Serena and Alex Marie. The four kids went miniature golfing at Finn's (indoor, glow-in-the-dark golfing) while we all caught up on "things." Then Jackie and Serena had picked Chi Chi's for lunch, so Ellen and Alex Marie got to try their famous pasta. Yummy! After that we headed over to Jackie's new place to swim. Alex Marie and Ellen left around 4 to spend time in the valley before heading back to Sacramento tomorrow. We hung around with Jackie and Serena until it was time for Jered to head off for an extra dance rehearsal.
Jered's dance team placed so well at the regional competition for Showstoppers at Disneyland in May, that they are going to the Nationals for the same system on the 15th. Last year they went, too, and placed 3rd. So we'll see how they do this year. I'll let you know!
We've been watching old movies, too. We finished South Pacific yesterday, the other day we watched The Spirit of St. Louis with Jimmy Stuart, and right now we're watching San Francisco with Clark Gable and Jeanette McDonald. Such torment for the kids! Yeah, right, they love them!
